The Scandinavian groups STORA ENSO (Finland) and ASSIDOMAN (Sweden) are to pool their paper packaging activities within a joint-venture in which they will have equal control and be floated on Stockholm's stock exchange between now and 2002. Called BILLERUD, this new company will have a pro forma turnover of 637 million euro and employ 2,400 people. It will produce 1.28 million tonnes of paste and paper a year.
