30/10/2000 (Agence Europe) - Professors Wilhelm Hankel (initial enemy of the European single currency) and Karl-Albrecht Schachtschneider have announced in "Bild am Sonntag" that they intend presenting an appeal before the German constitutional court in view of the abolition of the Euro. Professor Hankel (who, with his colleague and two other professors, had already presented, without success an appeal against the Euro) asserted that in October 1992 the Court of Karlsruhe had clearly said that "the Euro must be stable", while presently we cannot speak of stability, since the rate of inflation in the Euro area, which should not exceed 2%, has reached 2.8% in September.
