30/10/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has defined the initiatives it intends taking to improve the safety of activities linked to mining, by drawing the lessons from certain recent accidents, in Spain for example (accident in the mine of Aznacollar, pollution of the natural park of Donana) and Romania (accident of Baia Mare, pollution on the Danube). EUROPE will return to the details of the initiatives announced tomorrow.
