Developing relations between two Koreas the focus of first debates of ASEM Summit - Divergence between Fifteen on opening of diplomatic relations with North Korea

Seoul, 20/10/2000 (Agence Europe) - The new relations that have developed between the two Koreas since their summit in June this year were, as expected, the main point of discussions during the first morning of the ASEM Summit held on Friday and Saturday in Seoul. The European and Asian Heads of State and Government adopted a declaration to support the rapprochement process, after unanimous praise of the South Korean President and new Nobel Prizewinner, Kim Dae-jung.
