The second largest German in energy E.ON and the Swedish SYDKRAFT have announced the sale of their stakes in HEW, electricity supplier to Hamburg, to the Swedish group VATTENFALL in exchange for several stakes and EUR 490 million in cash. E.ON holds 15.4% of the capital in HEW and SYDKRAFT 21.8%. It concerns stakes in the Norwegian companies HAFSLUND (20.5%), FREDERIKSTAD ENERGIVERK (40%), FREDERIKSTAD ENERGINETT (35%), the Swedish FORSMARK KRAFT (8%), FORSKRAFT DISTRIBUTION (100%), VATTENFALL NATURGAS (51%), in the operator BALTIC CABLE (33.3%) as well as in the Lithuanian LPC (10%) and the Czech VCE (41.7%). To remind, E.ON is born from the merger of VIAG and VEBA, merger under conditions from the European competition authorities including the sale of this stake.
