Brussels, 20/10/2000 (Agence Europe) - Next 26 October, will take place in Paris, the "Industrial Forum on Enlargement" (an event organised by the Movement des Entrprise de France, MEDEF, in collaboration with UNICE and with the support of the European Commission), which will enable representatives from EU industry and candidate countries to debate all the most sensitive problems for enterprises, linked to enlargement. The aim of this forum is to promote the dialogue between the EU and the private sectors of the candidate countries, and to involve the enterprises in the enlargement process, said the spokesperson for the Commission, adding: "The private sector plays a key part in industrial mergers, the release of information and the promotion of solutions that are effective and favourable toward growth for matters concerned with the Community acquis in the candidate countries. Thus the negotiators from the candidate countries as well as high level civil servants from the EU will also be present. In a series of separate roundtables, seven themes will be broached covering issues linked to the implementation of the acquis, initially selected by the enterprises of the Community: standards for machines, mechanical and electric machines, work station security, environmental policy, intellectual property, the protection of private data, the conditioning and labelling of dangerous chemical products, industrial restructuring.
