Commission authorises DaimlerChrysler to acquire Detroit Diesel

Brussels, 10/10/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has approved an operation whereby US-German carmaker DaimlerChrysler acquires sole control of US-based company Detroit Diesel, specialised in the manufacture, marketing and servicing of high performance diesel and alternative fuel engines. Detroit Diesel was previously jointly controlled by DaimlerChrysler and Penske Corporation (United States). The Commission felt there was no reason to ban the operation as the combined...
