Brussels, 24/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - France and Sweden took advantage of the Budgets Council last week to propose to hold, each year, a first session of the Budgets Council in the spring. Aimed a giving Council formation responsibilities which are presently exercised by the ECOFIN Council, this initiative should enable, according to the Council President "to take part in the moves to improve the budgetary procedure and the management of the Community public monies."
