The German groups CELANESE and WACKER have sold their stake in their 50/50 joint-venture VINNOLIT, specialised in Polyvinil chloride (PVC) to the British investment fund ADVENT INTERNATIONAL. VINNOLIT produced 570,000 tonnes of plastic for a turnover of 428 million euro in 1999, with a workforce of 1,000. In addition, CELANESE has also announced the sale of its chloride subsidiary VINTRON (60 million euro turnover in 1999).
