Romano Prodi welcomes progress made in Okinawa on issues defended by Commission

Brussels, 24/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - European Commission President Romano Prodi welcomed the results of the G8 meeting in Okinawa, on issues he holds dear: "Discussions of the G8 Summit reflect the concerns expressed in recent months by the Commission regarding contagious illness (AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis), food safety, information technology and world trade.", says the President in a press release.
