America's ROHM AND HAAS is to sell SALINS-EUROPE ($220 million turnover in 1999 with a workforce of 1,500), its European salt division, for some $270 million to a consortium led by UNION D'ETUDES ET INVESTISSEMENT (GREDIT AGRICOLE group).
