ECHO food and medical assistance worth EUR 12 million

Brussels, 03/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has approved aid worth EUR 1³2 million from the European Commission Humanitarian Aid Office, ECHO, for food and medical assistance programmes in Tajikistan. The aid is administered by international agencies and NGOs and covers:

  • A food programme for an estimated 185,000 people considered to be most vulnerable among urban and rural populations (EUR 5.2 million).
