Luxembourg, 10/04/2000 (Agence Europe) - The General Affairs Council confirmed the EU backing for the Organisation of African Unity in favour of a peace agreement between Ethiopia and Eritrea and "discussed the difficulties in getting humanitarian aid through to the region." The Presidency's special representative on the ground, Italian Minister of State Rino Serri, provided ministers with a sketchy view of the political situation.
