According to a Commission report, liberalisation of road cabotage has not led to social dumping as over a quarter of cabotage is undertaken by Dutch haulers in Germany

Brussels, 08/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - Seven years after the beginning of the liberalisation of road transport in Europe, transport within a Member State by a non-resident haulers accounts for 0.2% of national transport. Contrary to what had been feared at the time, States with cheap labour are far from having exercised "unfair competition" on the European transport market, as Greece, Portugal and Spain only represent 2% of cabotage in Europe.
