Pascal Lamy to try to bring Euro-American positions closer together regarding agenda for new round of WTO negotiations, in Washington on 17/18 February

Brussels, 02/02/2000 (Agence Europe) - Following the visit of a senior American official to Brussels, it will be European Commissioner Pascal Lamy's turn to go to Washington on 17 and 18 February, for a further attempt at a transatlantic rapprochement regarding the agenda for the next round of negotiations within the World Trade Organisation (WTO). The United States is henceforth prepared to show more flexibility, if its trading partners do likewise, said President Clinton himself.
