- Chine: According to statistics published by the agency Chine nouvelle, foreign investment in China continued to drop in 1999, falling 11.4% from the previous year to USD 40.393 billion. Promised investments have also declined, totalling only USD 41.238 billion last year, down 21.3% from 1998.
