Association Council notes smooth running of the agreement in force and welcomes Tunisian progress, at a time when significant developments are in view

Brussels, 26/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The 2nd session of the EU-Tunisia Association Council (see yesterday's EUROPE, p. 9) was co-chaired by Jaime Gama, Portuguese Foreign Minister and President-in-Office of the EU Council, and his Tunisian colleague Mr. Habib Ben Yahia. The European Commission was represented by Mr. Guy Legras, Director General for External Relations. The session was followed by a dinner devoted to an exchange of views on different international political issues.
