Brussels, 26/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - Forum Europe and World Online, with the support of the European Commission and the European Internet Industry Association, are organising a conference on Europe and the development of electronic commerce, entitled "Picking Winners in On-line Europe". The debate will take place in the presence of Robert Verrue, Director General fo the DG Information Society at the European Commission; and Elizabeth Echols, Executive Director of the White House's electronic Commerce Working Group. Among other things, it will cover the European directive on e-commerce, the cross-fire between consumer protection associations and the commercial lobbiese, e-banking or the place of European postal services in this context.
