The French luxury products group LVMH has bought the American firm MIAMI CRUISELINE SERVICES, which describes itself as the world leader in tax-free sales on cruise vessels. The transaction was concluded for a figure close to the American group's turnover, i.e. USD 300 million. MIAMI CRUISELINE SERVICES will be integrated with DFS, LVMH's network of 150 tax-free luxury product shops in airports in the Asia-Pacific region and the United States. LVMH is also said to be interested in the acquisition of the watch division of Germany's MANNESMANN, in which the Swiss group SWATCH is also interested.
