EU gives go-ahead for Spanish State aid worth €70 million to digitalise print media

11/03/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 11 March, the European Commission approved Spanish State aid worth €70 million to support the digitalisation of the country’s print media, according to a press release. The scheme, which will run until 31 December 2028, is designed to help newspapers and periodicals modernise in the face of under-investment in technology in the sector.
