European Commission wants to bring together experts in “frontier AI”

05/03/2026 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission has opened a call for applications for the expert forum on “frontier” artificial intelligence, announced at the AI Summit in New Delhi (see EUROPE 13813/9). The forum will bring together “European AI developers, investors, industrial players” and research experts to “map existing efforts in frontier AI, and address challenges, bottlenecks and identify opportunities for Europe’s competitiveness, sovereignty and security in frontier AI”. The group’s recommendations may be addressed to the Commission, the Member States or European companies, and should strengthen “European capabilities in frontier AI”.
