05/03/26 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 5 March, French MEP Christophe Grudler (Renew Europe) was appointed lead rapporteur for the European Parliament on the draft Industrial Accelerator Act, presented by the European Commission on 4 March (see EUROPE 13821/1). “I am very pleased and proud to lead this major report on behalf of the European Parliament and my group, Renew Europe. The Industrial Accelerator finally marks a wake-up call: without clear support for our industries, we will lose jobs, factories and our technological sovereignty”, commented Mr Grudler in the same press release. The legislation “indeed represents a major shift: Made in Europe and European preference are entering European legislation. It targets key sectors such as steel, aluminium, the automotive industry and clean technologies, notably solar panels, batteries and nuclear energy”, the Group points out. (SP)
