European Commission proposes to implement “corrective measures” agreed with United Kingdom

04/03/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 4 March, the European Commission adopted a proposal to amend the regulation on 2026-2028 fishing quotas for certain fish stocks. The proposal (https://aeur.eu/f/kzy) implements the “remedial measures” agreed with the UK in 2025. These concern cod, whiting and saithe in the Celtic Sea and Irish Sea, as well as sole and plaice in the English Channel, and are due to come into force no later than 1 June 2026.
