04/03/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 4 March, the European Commission published the 2025 edition of its general report on the activities of the EU. This document sets out the EU’s main achievements over the last year. It highlights eight areas: support for Ukraine, “a sustainable, prosperous and competitive Europe”, strengthening Europe’s defence and security, supporting people and strengthening societies, sustaining quality of life in Europe, upholding European democracy and values, “a global Europe for peace, partnerships and economic stability” and finally “preparing Europe for the future”. According to the Commission, in 2025 the EU stepped up its efforts to strengthen its security and defence and the competitiveness of its economy. “2025 also marked a major step forward in reducing unnecessary burdens on businesses”, it adds.
