Brussels, 23/02/2026 (Agence Europe) – “The presentation of the Industrial Accelerator Act is now scheduled for 4 March”, stated Stéphane Séjourné’s office on Monday 23 February, which had initially envisaged the date of 26 February for a presentation of this new legislation introducing the principle of European preference in the award of public funds or public procurement in strategic industrial sectors. “We hope that this additional week of internal discussions will make the proposal even more solid”, added the office of the Executive Vice-President for Prosperity and Industrial Strategy. This is the third postponement since December. Discussions are focusing, among other things, on the third countries targeted by these ‘Made in Europe’ measures, with some Member States wishing to exempt countries with which the EU has a free trade agreement.
