Brussels, 23/01/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 22 January, the MEP Éric Sargiacomo (S&D, French), was appointed European Parliament rapporteur on the proposal to amend the rules of the Common Market Organisation (CMO) under the post-2027 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) (see EUROPE 13775/26). The socialist MEP had already been shadow rapporteur on the ‘wine package’ and was involved in discussions on proposals to strengthen the position of farmers in the food supply chain. In addition, Italy’s Dario Nardella (S&D) will act as shadow rapporteur for his group on the text on the architecture of the next CAP, for which the lead rapporteur is Norbert Lins (EPP, German). (LC)
