Brussels, 23/01/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 28 January, European Parliament’s Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) will finally welcome representatives from Amazon to discuss working conditions in the company’s EU warehouses. Three Amazon vice-presidents will be interviewed. An Amazon Poland warehouse employee will also take part in the discussion, according to Parliament. This hearing should then allow the representatives of Amazon’s interests to recover their permanent badges to access European Parliament. A decision to this effect was reportedly pushed through in November by European Parliament President Roberta Metsola, but will nevertheless have to be decided at Parliament’s Conference of Presidents, according to a source. The US company’s ‘lobbyists’ lost their permanent access to Parliament in 2024 after refusing the conditions of a previous EMPL hearing on the same subject of working conditions (see EUROPE 13668/35). According to another source, however, the return to normal access to Parliament for Amazon’s representatives has already been confirmed. (SP)
