EU disburses €1 billion in macrofinancial assistance to Egypt

Brussels, 15/01/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 15 January, the European Commission disbursed to Egypt a first tranche of loans totalling €1 billion as part of the European Union’s €4 billion macroeconomic assistance package for the period 2025-2027 (see EUROPE B13662A11).
