European Commission wants to capitalise on development of artificial intelligence, but without proposing any new initiatives

In her State of the Union address on Wednesday 10 September, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, made several references to future initiatives in new technologies and artificial intelligence, presenting them as one of the pillars of the revival of European competitiveness. 

She mentioned in particular the ‘Cloud and AI Development Act’ and a future ‘Quantum Sandbox’.
