According to EU Court of Justice, consumers can be denied reimbursement for unauthorised transactions if they knew about said transactions and were slow to report them

On Friday, 1 August, the Court of Justice of the European Union ruled that a payment card user may be deprived of the right to obtain reimbursement for an unauthorised payment transaction of which he or she was aware if he or she delays reporting it to his or her service provider in an intentional or grossly negligent manner—even if the report is made within the 13 months following the debit date.
