01/08/2025 (Agence Europe) – The annual inflation rate in the euro area is estimated at 2.0% in July, unchanged compared with June, according to a flash estimate published by the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat) on Friday 1 August. It was highest in Estonia (5.6%), Croatia and Slovakia (both 4.5%), while the lowest rates were observed in Cyprus (0.1%), France (0.9%) and Ireland (1.6%). Price increases were moderate in Germany (1.8%) and sustained in Spain (2.7%). In terms of the main components of inflation, food, alcohol and tobacco are expected to see the highest annual inflation rate in July (3.3%, compared with 3.1% in June), followed by services (3.1%, compared with 3.3% in June), industrial goods excluding energy (0.8%, compared with 0.5% in June) and energy (-2.5%, compared with -2.6% in June).
