Germany will deliver two Patriot systems to Kyiv “in the coming days”

01/08/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 1 August, the German Ministry of Defence announced that Germany would be delivering two Patriot launchers to Ukraine “in the coming days”. “Over the next two to three months”, Berlin will then deliver additional components “to reinforce Ukrainian air defence with additional Patriot batteries”. These shipments follow an agreement with the US Department of Defense; under this agreement, Germany would then be the first country to receive newly produced, latest-generation Patriot systems “as soon as possible”. Germany has already delivered three systems to Kyiv. According to an AFP analysis based on Ukrainian Air Force data, Russia fired 6,297 long-range drones in July, which was almost 16% more than in June. Russia also fired 198 missiles in the same month.
