European Commission proposes simplifying EU statistics on fisheries and aquaculture

On Wednesday 30 July, the European Commission adopted a proposal to simplify the collection and compilation of statistics relating to fisheries and aquaculture in Europe.

The proposal aims to replace five existing sets of rules with a single, simplified and integrated system that will reduce the reporting burden on Member States.
