Civil Protection Mechanism has been activated in North Macedonia following forest fires

30/07/2025 (Agence Europe) – North Macedonia has triggered the European Civil Protection Mechanism following forest fires that are affecting the whole country, the European Commission announced in a post on the X social network on Tuesday 29 July. In response, Austria, France and Slovenia offered to deploy firefighters. A helicopter from the European rescEU fleet based in the Czech Republic was also mobilised, according to the European Commission. (FS)
