European Commission sets out rules for ‘enhanced emergency capacity’ of EU Health Task Force

On Tuesday 29 July, the European Commission adopted a regulation establishing the procedure for mobilising the ‘enhanced emergency capacity’ of the EU Health Task Force (EUHTF).

The EUHTF is made up of teams of experts who can be deployed rapidly in the event of a health emergency. This task force, set up by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), has two components: a permanent capacity and an enhanced emergency capacity.
