01/07/2025 (Agence Europe) – The Danish Presidency of the EU Council will hold a new hearing regarding Hungary under Article 7 of the Treaty, on respect for the Rule of law, on 21 October at the General Affairs Council, it states in its work programme. This will be the ninth hearing since 2018 and the opening of Article 7 procedures by the European Parliament. On 17 November, the General Affairs Council will also hold another discussion as part of the annual dialogue on the Rule of law. This will be a country-specific discussion. On 7 July, the European Commission is due to publish its new annual report on the Rule of law in the EU27. On 13 and 14 October, the EU27 ministers responsible for justice will also take stock of developments in the Rule of law in their sector. Link to calendar: https://aeur.eu/f/hn2 (SP)
