01/07/2025 (Agence Europe) – The euro area’s annual inflation rate is expected to be 2.0% in June, compared with 1.9% in May, according to a flash estimate published by the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat) on Tuesday 1 July. It was highest in Estonia (5.2%), Slovakia (4.6%) and Croatia (4.4%), while it was lowest in Cyprus (0.5%), France (0.8%) and Ireland (1.6%). Price increases were moderate in Italy (1.7%) and Germany (2.0%), and slightly more sustained in Spain (2.2%). Looking at the main components of euro area inflation, services are expected to record the highest annual rate in June (3.3%, compared with 3.2% in May), followed by food, alcohol & tobacco (3.1%, compared with 3.2% in May), non-energy industrial goods (0.5%, compared with 0.6% in May) and energy (-2.7%, compared with -3.6% in May).
