MEPs stress “crucial” role played by cohesion policy in development of rural areas

17/06/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 17 June, the European Parliament highlighted “the crucial role of cohesion policy for the development of rural areas”, by adopting (622 votes in favour, 24 against, 21 abstentions) the report by Denis Nesci (ECR, Italian) on this subject. Cohesion policy should continue to be a key pillar of the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) post-2027, “with an allocation that is maintained at a minimum threshold equivalent to the current MFF 2021-2027...
