European Council will meet in October to assess progress on competitiveness following March and June summits

At their meeting on 26 and 27 June, EU leaders are not expected to issue any new directives on competitiveness, but rather to emphasise the need to accelerate the work that is already underway. According to the draft conclusions, a copy of which has been sent to Agence Europe, the Heads of State or Government should once again call for the internal market to be strengthened and for work on simplification to be accelerated.
