Spain and Portugal call for “renewed political impetus” to strengthen electricity interconnections with Iberian Peninsula

In a letter sent to the European Commissioner for Energy, Dan Jørgensen, on Wednesday 21 May, the Spanish Minister for Ecological Transition and the Democratic Challenge, Sara Aagesen Muñoz, and the Portuguese Minister for the Environment and Energy, Maria da Graça Carvalho, called for the completion of electricity interconnections with the Iberian peninsula to be speeded up as a matter of urgency, as a “structural imperative with a European dimension”.
