Electric vehicle charging sector adds €15 billion to EU economy in 2024, according to a study by ChargeUp

The economic impact of the vehicle charging sector is already significant. It added €15.3 billion in value to the European economy in 2024, according to the annual report by ChargeUp Europe, which represents the electric vehicle charging industry, on Wednesday 21 May (see EUROPE B13631A16).

This impact comes from electricity sales, equipment and the provision of services. The sector has supported 54,000 jobs to date. By 2035, the sector is expected to be worth €94 billion, creating...
