21/05/2025 (Agence Europe) – The EU Council has adopted a decision extending the European Union’s Partnership Mission in Moldova (EUPM) for a further two years, until 31 May 2027, with a budget of more than €19.8 million for this period, according to a legal act published in the Official Journal of the EU on Wednesday 21 May. The EU Council also decided to adjust the mission’s mandate in order to strengthen the provision of strategic advice to the Moldovan authorities in the security sector and to ensure that its project unit focuses on projects in line with the strategic advice provided. Created in April 2023, the mission aims to strengthen the resilience of the security sector in the areas of crisis management and hybrid threats, including cyber security and the fight against manipulation and foreign interference in information.
