19/05/25 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 19 May, the European Commission launched a public consultation to gather the views of society as a whole on the next gender equality strategy for 2026-2030. This strategy will set out the vision for gender equality over the next five years. The aim will be to define a set of actions to enable both women and men, “in all their diversity” to “realise their full potential, without hindrance”, according to a press release. In doing so, the Commission will take account of progress on the Gender Equality Strategy 2020-2025 (https://aeur.eu/f/gwj ) and will follow up the commitments made in the ‘roadmap’ for women’s rights, published in March (see EUROPE 13595/1). The consultation will run for twelve weeks, until 19 August. Consultation: https://aeur.eu/f/gw8 (NP)
