09/05/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 9 May, the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) published two reports on the supervision of energy markets, identifying areas for improvement. One concerns the analysis of the ability of persons professionally arranging transactions (PPATs) to detect and report suspicious activities on the energy market. The other targets national energy regulatory authorities (NRAs), with the analysis of suspicious transaction and order reports (STORs) submitted by PPATs, enforcement measures and penalties. ACER’s recommendations include clearly separating REMIT monitoring functions, updating customer interaction procedures and carrying out more regular audits of monitoring functions.
