09/05/25 (Agence Europe) – The European Union’s programme for education, training, youth and sport, Erasmus+, received the 2025 European Integration Award by the Cercle d’Economia think tank, the European Commission announced on Wednesday 7 May. The award, created in 2020, rewards individuals and institutions that have made outstanding efforts to promote European unity and cooperation. In this case, by organising mobility and strengthening cooperation between higher education establishments, the Erasmus+ programme has helped modernise and internationalise education in Europe and its partner countries. To date, 16 million people have benefited from learning opportunities in line with shared European values based on “respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law and respect for human rights”, according to the Commission’s press release.
