On Thursday 8 May, the European Commission announced that it would be making €404.3 million available to doctoral graduates to help them develop their research careers. This funding is part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions (see EUROPE 13633/5).
These grants enable researchers to benefit from training, while encouraging international, interdisciplinary and inter-sectoral mobility. The programme also encourages research and innovation projects outside academia. It is open to researchers wishing to return to Europe, as well as those looking to relaunch their research careers. This call includes two types of grants. European postdoctoral fellowships are open to researchers of all nationalities who wish to carry out a project in the EU or in a country associated with the ‘Horizon Europe’ programme. Global postdoctoral fellowships are open to European nationals or long-term residents of an EU Member State or a country associated with ‘Horizon Europe’ who are carrying out a mobility project in a non-associated third country before returning to Europe.
The call will close on Wednesday 10 September and is expected to fund almost 1,650 projects.
