In 2024, EU countries granted protection status to 437,900 asylum seekers, an increase of 6.9% compared to 2023 with 409,530 asylum seekers, according to Eurostat.
Of these, 42.4% were granted refugee status, 38.8% subsidiary protection and 18.8% humanitarian status.
