03/04/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 3 April, the European Parliament confirmed by 327 votes to 229, with 50 abstentions, the mandate of the European Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties to enter into negotiations with the EU Council on the European Talent Pool. Several groups, such as The Left and the ECR, had wanted to be able to reopen the content of the mandate and amend it (see EUROPE 13613/27). Negotiations with the EU Council will therefore begin on 7 April, as planned. The text was submitted to the European Parliament by Abir Al-Sahlani (Renew Europe, Swedish). Negotiations with the EU Council on the rules for suspending visa-free travel will also start on 7 April. (SP)
