Brussels, 06/03/2025 (Agence Europe) – Contrary to what we wrote in EUROPE 13592/12 bulletin, false traineeships in the education sector are not affected by the extension of the scope of the fight against false traineeships. According to the Polish compromise, “To achieve the second objective of the Directive, that is to combat false traineeships that are in fact employment relationships, the scope of Chapter III (False traineeships) includes any person engaged in a false traineeship, regardless of the type of traineeship”. However, “based on delegations’ request, the Presidency has maintained the exclusion of traineeships with formal connection to education and training from the scope of the entire Directive, while simplifying the wording in the operative part and keeping the list of specific cases in Recital 16a”.
