06/02/2025 (Agence Europe) – At the Council of the EU’s Energy Working Group on Tuesday 4 February, the European Commission presented the main features of the Renewable Energy Financing Mechanism (RENEWFM) to support the 2030 targets (see EUROPE 13296/32) and fill the gaps left by Member States. A first call for tenders took place in 2023 for €27.5 million and 213 MWp. This was followed by another appeal in July 2024, which will close on 4 March 2025. Finally, under a new call for expressions of interest, Member States can express their interest in participating in the RENEWFM grant award procedures as a contributing and/or host Member State until 23 March.
